Mein Freund, My Coat
About True Friendship And True Love
And Possibly Hoarding
from my other Blog,
IN High School this was my favorite coat to wear during cold weather. It’s a German Military Jacket with a wool liner. 6 years ago one of cousins borrowed it and decided to paint someone’s house while wearing it and got white pait all over it.
I was furious, I shoved it in the trunk of my car as a backup coat. Always pack spare clothing.
One day I got tired of seeing it in my trunk matted with paint and hardly wearable. So, I threw it away, I said fuck it.

It had survived all these years and even been given a new clean look at the unfortunate whitewashing, and for some reason been eaten away by something so bad that it was probably only good for Halloween.
I think a battery I was returning to Wal-mart to be disposed leaked battery acid and even after the battery was gone it remained on the coat and ate the coat. Around the holes there is a dark discoloration like it was used to put out a fire.
I should throw it away but right now I don’t have another backup jacket and the lining is still good and I can’t afford new clothing so, my German jacket still has a place..
Yesterday I decided to throw it on the ground and take some photos of it. It may look like I’m making a negative statement about what I think of Germany, but in actuality it’s quite the opposit
